Competitions

One of the first activities that our association started organising immediately after it was founded is the English Language Competitions for primary and secondary schools. The competitions’ aim is to offer a unique opportunity for students to measure their English language proficiency against the proficiency of the other participants and also give teachers an opportunity to reflect on their teaching practice and compare it to that of their colleagues’. First competitions were organized in 2000 when there was only one level, the state competition and only students in the final year of primary education and second year secondary school could participate. As the competitions grew, we took steps to improve them and, in 2005, we introduced the regional level for the same age-groups. 2014 is the year when our enthusiasm and efforts were rewarded - the Ministry of Education accredited ELTAM MK’s competitions. We introduced the local level and also widened the range of participants for the primary schools. Now students from 5th to 9th grade can take part. The association’s aim to grow and improve the competitions is continuing and therefore in 2020 we introduced two new age-groups in the secondary school competitions and now students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of secondary school can take part.

Competition accreditation

We would like to inform you that the Accredition Commitee of Teacher Associations for Organizing Student's Competition in Primary Schools from the Ministry of Education and science of N.R.M. has granted ELTAM accreditation for organizing student's competitions in primary and schools. 
Also the Accredition Commitee of Teacher Associations for Organizing Student's Competition in Secondary Schools from the Ministry of Education and science of N.R.M. has granted ELTAM MK accreditation for organizing student's competitions in secondary schools.
